The Vocational Guidance and Training Institute (VGTI) was established in 1987 within TIP with the objective of providing specialized vocational training. Under the leadership of Dr. U. N. Limaye, the institute introduced its first course in Electroplating, laying the foundation for a strong vocational education framework. Over the years, VGTI has been guided by visionary directors, including Dr. U. N. Limaye (1986–2008), Dr. S. N. Kanetkar (2008–2020), Shri Prashant Gokhale (2020–2024), and Shri Narendra Temghare (2024–Present).
During his tenure, Dr. Limaye played a crucial role in expanding the institute’s offerings by introducing new courses aligned with industry needs, such as Chemical Process, Paint Technology, and Interior Design and Decoration. These programs were developed in collaboration with the Faculty of FCP & TIP, ensuring a comprehensive and industry-relevant curriculum.
A significant milestone in the institute’s journey occurred in 1993 when the Sudarshan Rathi Chemical Group made a generous donation to VGTI, enabling significant improvements in infrastructure and expanding the institute’s capabilities. This led to its renaming as the Jagannath Rathi Vocational Guidance and Training Institute (JRVGTI). Further advancements were made in 2004–05 under the leadership of Mr. Prashant Gokhale, when the institute introduced a Graphic Design course to meet the rising demand for skilled professionals in digital and visual communication.

We see our Institute as a provider of quality education to make the students employable and self earning individuals. We intend to achieve this by imparting add on skills and encouraging their entrepreneurial spirit.
Mission
Identifying the areas of possible employment, designing appropriate training programs and implementing them in the most professional manner at affordable cost. Giving state-of-art knowledge by involving experts in respective fields to keep the students abreast of the current developments and have a proper blend of concept and practice in the respective fields.
